The Problem

Property managers travel regularly to perform inspections of all their managed properties. Each inspection must subsequently be recorded in an inspection form.​

​The existing inspection process involved generating an offline, Excel version of the inspection. This was time-consuming and inefficient, as numerous offline files had to be managed by each property manager with no centralized, consolidated, online repository of inspections. It was further not possible to easily add photo or video evidence of any property issues to an inspection.

The Problem

A Tenant Activity Notice (TAN) is a form that is circulated for input from various departments each time major tenant activity (such as beginning or terminating a lease) occurs.

The existing TAN process involved generating an offline, Excel version of the form and distributing it manually via email. This made collaboration difficult and time-consuming, as there was no consolidated, online version of a TAN and no central repository to search for existing TANs.

The Business Problem

Urban Edge was looking to move away from spreadsheet reporting - which took time to prepare and quickly became outdated - to a more automated model which would remove information silos and provide everyone with access to reports in real time. They wanted one place to drive their reporting and dashboard agendas instead of having reports in separate tools and files. Due to Urban Edge’s alignment with the Microsoft stack, that place became Power BI.

The Business Problem

Being able to pivot quickly when change arises is often fundamental to the ongoing success of a business. When Urban Edge needed a way for their employees and guests to return to the office under the “new normal”, instead of purchasing a new system which would involve additional costs, installation, setup and inevitable security questions, they were able to quickly turn to what they had and with the help of Open Box, develop a low-code solution to meet requirements.
