Tishman Speyer Employee Management

Performance management, compensation reviews, leave management and time allocation for project billing purposes required the implementation of systemized processes to support the growing workforce.

Outcome

Open Box developed a suite of integrated applications centred on a shared employee data store and incorporating an off-the-shelf Human Resource Information System (HRIS) package.

Business Case

The client has a global workforce operating in a complex environment where it is critical that standard, traceable processes are in place for employee management.

In particular, performance management, compensation reviews, leave management and time allocation for project billing purposes required the implementation of systemized processes to support the growing workforce.

Solution

Open Box developed a suite of integrated applications centered on a shared employee data store and incorporating an off-the-shelf Human Resource Information System (HRIS) package.

The first application that was delivered allowed easy access to a basic employee listing, and was extended to cater for leave management, taking into account each country’s unique leave policies.

Next, a performance management solution was delivered that allows for Human Resources (HR) to define and monitor the employee review process that is followed company-wide. The software facilitates performance assessment capture and review at various levels, culminating in a streamlined annual global compensation review.

Finally a time allocation solution was added. This solution integrates with the back office accounting system to capture, process and adjust employee time allocations (and therefore payroll costs) to the client’s many projects. It also enables planning for future project time allocation as part of the annual budgeting process and facilitates budget to actuals reporting.

Project

The solution was addressed by a series of projects, and each application has evolved over time to meet changing needs.

The decision to purchase an HRIS tool necessitated a shift in project focus toward integrating that tool into the application suite as the key source providing data to the shared employee data store.

The solution’s architecture allows the client to enjoy the benefits of an HRIS package for standard processes whilst having full control over custom process functionality.

Benefits

  • Custom HR systems designed to suit company process.
  • User friendly system interfaces to guide employees through tasks.
  • The ability for the global head-office to control and track HR processes across all operations.
  • Integration of HR processes into the accounting system for billing and budgeting.
