Principal Consultant
Rob is Open Box’s lead technical consultant in the Custom Software space, with over 16 years’ experience in real-estate software solutions.
He joined Open Box in 2006 as a Software Developer, crafting his art for several years in coding and technical project delivery. In his early years he worked on development teams delivering on a wide array of projects including large data migrations, bespoke financial and budgeting applications across multiple countries, and integrations with complex Real Estate ERP systems. Developing quickly into a strong team leader and then consultant, today Rob assists our clients to plan and execute their business strategies.
Rob is well versed in learning new technologies himself and then distributing this knowledge to others. He engages with clients across a wide range of technologies, including open-source technologies such as Drupal CMS and cloud solutions on Azure. He is adept at providing consulting services, architecting solutions, recruiting new talent, and overseeing internal development teams that support our biggest clients.
On weekends, you can find him either running mountain trails on the iconic Table Mountain or cycling around the Cape peninsula on his road bike. He also hits a golf ball pretty well, representing his province (state) in his youth.
